Letter from School Leadership

Welcome to St. Maria Goretti High School!

Our Mission is to provide a Catholic college preparatory education inspiring academic excellence, spiritual growth, leadership, and service.  What does that mean on a daily basis?

First and foremost, we are a Catholic school. Every facet of school life is informed by our Catholic faith and is a tangible part of each school day.  The culture of our school is guided and shaped by the Christian tenets we hold so dear: to love God and to love one another. We pray, we learn, and we serve.

We are college preparatory. Our rigorous curriculum prepares students well for the challenges they will meet in their post-secondary studies. We offer College Prep, Honors, Advanced Placement, and Early to College classes, providing students the opportunity to earn collegiate credit during their high school years. Our alumni will attest to the excellent preparation they gained at Goretti, and our 100% college acceptance rate proves that we do our job well.

We inspire academic excellence. At Goretti, students understand from day one that it is ‘okay’ to be smart! Our students take their studies seriously, and we emphasize from the first day of freshman orientation that students create an academic foundation throughout their high school years that will help to determine the options available to them when they graduate. We want those options to be outstanding, and we believe academic excellence is the pathway to that success!

We inspire spiritual growth. Students of all faiths are welcome at Goretti, and we want to see our students grow intellectually and spiritually, to develop excellent moral character and to deepen their relationship with God. A Catholic education provides far more than just academic instruction. At Goretti, we want to nurture the ‘whole person’ so that our students are academically and spiritually prepared for productive and meaningful adult lives.

We inspire leadership. We hold our students to high standards in terms of their academics and their character.  We look to our students to lead, not only in the classroom but in their co-curricular activities and in the larger community. Our students are ambassadors for our school and the 60+ year legacy it has in our community. This expectation of leadership and excellence begins as soon as a student joins the Goretti Family!

We inspire service. Service is a way of life here at Goretti, and our students have numerous opportunities to ‘give back’ through service learning opportunities. Annually, our graduating classes far exceed the service hour graduation requirements. Our 200 Club, whose members earn twice the number of required hours, is one of our larger student organizations on campus. We are blessed to be members of the Goretti community, and, in turn, we want our students to be blessings to others.

As you spend a little time on our Goretti website, we trust that we will inspire you!

Welcome to the Family!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Bridget Bartholomew
